New Theano Release
A couple of days ago, Theano version 0.8.1 has been released. Though, the most prominent changes are related to computer vision, the new version also includes lots of bug fixes and other changes. Therefore, it is a good idea to run some tests with the new version and switch if there are no problems. We already did and encountered no problems so far.
What kind of framework one is use definitely also a matter of taste, but we still find that Theano is the most versatile framework, with a clear focus on optimization and once you mastered the low-level interface, it allows you to train very powerful models. So, thank you to all the contributors and the maintainers for providing such an elegant and stable framework, even if it is still marked as “beta” ;-).
